L&L Walhalla is located alongside scenic River Road with stunning views of the Texas Hill Country. Our facilities offer a unique setting for any occasion, and we provide you with the perfect venue to create a truly memorable event experience. Walhalla is an event venue that can accommodate all types of celebrations and we look forward to meeting you!
The Venue
Our venue includes 4,000 square feet of enclosed climate-controlled space, 2,500 square feet of outdoor patio space and 2,500 square feet at our covered outdoor chapel. We offer 30 sixty-inch round tables and chairs with the rental of our event space and 250 chairs available for the covered outdoor chapel area for event services. We also offer full onsite catering services to meet your needs. Inside our event hall you will find a stage perfectly suited for live bands and DJ services. In the covered outdoor patio space, there are 8 cocktail tables with stools for use and 2 vintage truck bar tops with stools as well. Inside our chapel we offer a bridal suite and groom’s suite for day-of preparations if needed. The bridal suite is fully equipped with 2 hair and makeup bars, floor-to-ceiling mirror, private restroom, couch, and TV which makes it a perfect area for hanging out while getting ready for the big day. The groom’s suite provides a shuffleboard table, TV, couches for lounging, and a table with chairs. The bride and groom apartments are also available for overnight stays upon request.
Rooted in History
In 1972, Louis & Viola Meckel set out on a new adventure together as they opened the gates to Lazy L & L Campground. Through the years, those primitive campground sites have grown into a legacy – now 50 years strong. Rodney and Margie, their children and families have had the privilege of being the proud overseers of Lazy L & L and now, L & L Walhalla.
Louis & Viola’s marriage was a true partnership for 65 years as they worked daily, side-by-side, driving tractors, building fences, raising cattle, or in later years, renting tubes. Through it all, they always shared roles and responsibilities.
In celebration of their long marriage, a chapel opened in 2016 (now known as L & L Walhalla) and was christened by the wedding of Louis & Viola’s grandson and his wife. As a couple recites their vows under the beautiful hand-carved wooden cross, overlooking the field and rolling hills, we hope the commitment and dedication of the Meckel’s marriage creates a solid foundation for their own partnership.
